"Empowering People for Life"

The Value of Differences: Appreciating Cultural Inclusion in Your Organization The U.S. population is becoming increasingly divers, and it is to everyone's advantage to understand how these changes will impact society. This interactive seminar provides an enhanced sensitivity to a broad range of diverse issues including: the power of stereotypes, the effects of discrimination, and suggestions for building inclusive ethnic, racial, and religious communities. Participants will have an opportunity to explore their individual and corporate commitment to building such communities.

The Language of Diversity: Cultivating Cultural Literacy in Your Organization

Language expresses ideas and concepts and also shapes our thoughts. Often well-intentioned people unconsciously reinforce and perpetuate prejudicial attitudes and beliefs through their use of words. This process known as micro-inequalities can have a profound impact on the corporate culture in your organization. Cultural literacy is the ability to understand, communicate and appreciate the similarities and differences in the customs, values, and beliefs of one’s own culture and the culture of others in a sensitive manner.

Managing the Inevitability of Diversity

Diversity is an inevitable reality of contemporary life. As society responds to rapid cultural shifts in teh workplace and the community, the necessity for cultural sensitivity has become a stark reality. Yet, the response to diversity issues is often characterized by strong negative emotional and behavioral challenges. This seminar explores the anatomy of diversity and suggests strategies for conceptualizing nad implementing them.
